Madison County Historian Matthew Urtz, Re-enactors Katherine Bootie, Adrienne deNoyelles, Diane Bootie, Jeff Rubenstein, Wade Lallier and Joan Prindle
Thank you to those who attended “Tales from the Chenango Canal” on Thursday, April 23rd at the Hamilton Public Library. This event combined facts with fictional conversations between characters dressed in period outfits representing the mid-1800s. The audience of 50 people reacted to the humor and facts told with interest. Madison County Historian Matthew Urtz was the Moderator. Actors depicting well-known and real people were Jeff Rubenstein, Joan Prindle, Diane and Kathy Bootie, Adrienne deNoyelles and Wade Lallier.
This was a lot of fun due to the length the re-enactors went to make it believable and enjoyable. This historic literary event was co-sponsored by the Chenango Canal Association & Village of Hamilton Historical Commission.
An all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
Publicly encouraging research for the preservation of the canal, surrounding waters and land,
while maintaining it as both a historic and public recreation site.
