Student Volunteers

In 2025, Colgate COVE Service Day (with 16 volunteers) helped clean the deck located behind the Cottage Museum, sort bottles and cans collected during the Antique Show, and cleared a section of the towpath trail near Oriskany Creek. Additionally, 7 volunteers from Hamilton College Service Day helped to clear a section of the towpath trail north of Elm Street. We thank you for all of your hard work and dedication to the community!

 In 2024, Colgate COVE Service Day (with 5 volunteers) and Hamilton College HAVOC Service Day (with 22 members of the Men's Lacrosse team) helped to clear sections of the towpath trail both north of Rt 20 and south of Rt 20 on Canal Rd.  We thank you for all your help to keep the trail clear for the trail users and for the town/county personnel to mow the grass!

Publicly encouraging research for the preservation of the canal, surrounding waters and land, 

while maintaining it as both a historic and public recreation site.
