The CCA Cottage Museum and the five (5) mile Towpath Trail with its 2+ mile extension into the Village of Hamilton are the main attractions in addition to special seasonal events. The trail is open for walkers, joggers, bicyclists, horseback riders, and portions of the canal can be kayaked.
Wildlife sightings along the trail.
The self-guided CCA Cottage Museum is open most days from 10 AM to 5 PM however, an audio tour of the Towpath Trail and Cottage Museum is available for your convenience 24-hours a day.
The CCA Board of Trustees appreciates all the help that our volunteers provide, we can't do all the work that needs to be done alone! Volunteers are invited to assist with trail maintenance activities such as trimming back the overgrowth, removal of fallen trees or dangerous trees, trash clean-up, gardening, repair of structures, etc., there is always something that needs to be done.

Join us to support Our Mission:
The Chenango Canal Association is dedicated to preserving, maintaining, and improving the historic Chenango Canal and its towpath. Preservation of the canal creates an understanding of its historic significance, as well as builds a foundation for ongoing, positive, community development. This is accomplished through a range of recreational and educational activities.
CAN-DO Project: Drop off your bags of 5 cent returnable bottles and cans to the CAN-DO shed located at the Canal Cottage Museum.
Send your wildlife pictures from your visit to the Chenango Canal trail to chenangocanalassociation@gmail.com, please include your name and the date the picture was taken along with the approximate location, for example "picture taken on the trail between Woodman Pond Road and Rt. 46 on July 10, 2022".
